INTRODUCTION
The Proxmark 3 is a dedicated, highly-capable multi-tool for RFID analysis, providing reading, writing, analysis, snooping, replaying, emulation, modulation, demodulation, decoding, encoding, decryption, encryption for any RFID system operating in the 125KHz, 134KHz and 13.56MHz frequencies.
Since its original creation in 2007, there have been huge leaps in the electronics field. The Proxmark 3 RDV4.01 is a fully revised, modernized version of the already powerful RDV2.
This is the 4.01 version of the device which includes multiple improvements over the 4.0 version, including:
- Reduced power supply noise
- Gold-plated FPC Connector
- Antenna "Q-Switch" allowing for adapting antennas to specific operations
- Antenna Frequency Switch allowing for optimised 125KHz and 134KHz performance
OVERVIEW
The Proxmark 3 RDV4.01 is the latest revision of the Proxmark 3 Platform. It is designed and manufactured by RRG, a company formed by four people instrumental to the Proxmark 3 including:
- Chris Hermann (iceman) - Moderator of the proxmark forums
- Kevin (0xFFFF) - Moderator of the proxmark forums
The RDV 4.01 revision represents a highly optimised piece of hardware specifically designed for the pen-testing community:
