The BT-200 Bias-Tee Low Noise Amplifier is a wideband RX LNA designed specifically for bladeRF SDR platforms, providing a simple way to dramatically lower system noise figure and increase receive sensitivity. Featuring a Mini-Circuits TSS-53LNB+ MMIC, the BT-200 delivers ultra low noise performance from 0.5GHz to 5GHz, making it ideal for weak-signal work, satellite, GNSS, ISM, LTE, and general RF experimentation.

Powered directly through the bladeRF’s RF SMA connectors via integrated bias-tee circuitry, the BT-200 requires no external DC cabling. Power is fully software-controllable via de>bladeRF-cli or any application using de>libbladeRF. A green LED clearly indicates when the LNA is enabled, and when the port is unpowered the amplifier automatically enters bypass mode with about 4dB insertion loss, protecting your receive chain and keeping things predictable.

  • Accessories: Works with the Micro Enclosure and external DC power supply (recommended when using multiple bias-tee modules)

Control & Usage

  • Enable LNA via CLI: de>set biastee rx on
  • Disable LNA via CLI: de>set biastee rx off
  • Check power budget: de>print hardware in de>bladeRF-cli
  • GNU Radio: add de>biastee=rx to de>gr-osmosdr source blocks to switch the LNA on from within flowgraphs

Because the BT-200 draws its current from the bladeRF’s bias-tee supply, care should be taken when powering the SDR solely from USB, especially when multiple BT-series modules are attached. For higher power budgets and maximum linear performance, using an external DC supply with the bladeRF is recommended. Note that the BT-200 is intended for RX ports only.
