The LILYGO Paxcounter LoRa V2.1_1.6.1 is a highly versatile, privacy-friendly IoT device designed for real-time passenger flow metering and advanced wireless sensing. Powered by an ESP32 microcontroller and supporting LoRa communication at 433/868/915MHz, this compact module can estimate how many people are present by counting nearby WiFi and Bluetooth devices—without storing MAC addresses or tracking individuals, ensuring privacy is always respected.

The Paxcounter is ideal for smart city projects, public transport, event management, and disaster radio mesh networks, where accurate, real-time people counting and device detection are critical. Its 0.96-inch OLED display (128x64, SSD1306) provides clear visual feedback, while the onboard SD card slot allows for local data logging. Data can also be sent via LoRaWAN, MQTT, or serial SPI, offering flexible integration into cloud or local systems.

This latest V2.1_1.6.1 version features a redesigned power switch for easier operation, an SMA antenna for stronger signal transmission, and advanced radio features like digital RSSI, automatic frequency correction and gain control, fast wake-up, and frequency hopping for robust long-range communication. The device is compatible with Arduino IDE and MicroPython, making custom development and integration straightforward for any IoT project.
